On to my next endeavor...

In February, it will be six months since "Bedtime for Meaghan" was published and released. I was very encouraged by the positive feedback and kind acknowledgments that I received. Today, I received a call from someone wanting to let me know that she had purchased my book and thought is was great. She's planning on giving it to her daughter. She asked if I would autograph it for her...I was truly honored and grateful for her kindness and interest.

It's funny...I wrote that book for my daughter and "people" are actually reading it, buying it...enjoying it. I feel very blessed.

I am now in the process of gathering my information and all else that I need in order to begin illustrating my next book. My son will be front and center in this one. He's been very patient
and I can't wait to see the outcome.

What a feeling...

I can not tell you properly with words how ELATED I was at the first moment I held my very own book in my hands. I could not stop starring at the cover, it was a lot to take in. I am beside myself with joy!

Meaghan was screaming at the top of her lungs with excitement and pride. She wanted to call the world and announce that we had IT in our hands. That her mom was a published author and illustrator. No matter how this book does...whether it sells or not is not the issue to me. This book was written for one purpose...for a little girl that filled my heart so much with love, that it overflowed and translated into words on a page. So when I saw and felt the emotion that Meaghan expressed on the day that the book arrived, that was the best reward I could have ever hoped for. Anything else that comes from it is pure bonus and who doesn't love a bonus. :)

Update on "Bedtime for Meaghan"

I just recently received the first set of proofs for "Bedtime for Meaghan". Can you imagine how exciting that was? First set of proofs of my very first book! I thought I would explode!

Until...I realized that making corrections would be agonizing since, of course, I wanted it to be perfect. So many choices, which one is the best? Who knows...after all, perfect is so very subjective. I can only hope that I made the right choices, so that every child that hears this story will maybe, just maybe find a new favorite in mine.

So, I've sent in my corrections and here I wait. Next stop, cover design.
